2020 Annual Meeting in Jeju – Postponed
It is with deep regret that we announce the postponement of the 3rd Annual Conference of EASSSR due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The conference was scheduled to be held at Jeju National University, Republic of Korea, on July 23-25, 2020. About a month ago, in response to the outbreaks of the coronavirus in several East Asian societies, we extended the deadline of presentation proposals to the end of March. In the last month, however, we have seen the rapid spread of COVID-19 in many parts of the world, and many countries and universities have imposed travel restrictions. It is no longer practical nor ethical to hold this conference as originally planned.
The EASSSR leadership would like to thank our host – the Jeju National University – for all the time and effort they have put into the preparation. More important, we are grateful that they are willing to postpone and host the 3rd Annual Conference of EASSSR in summer 2021. We will announce the dates and other specifics at a later time in autumn 2020. For those scholars who have already registered for the 2020 conference, we will contact them directly to arrange refund or credit for the postponed conference in 2021. We hope to see many of you in summer 2021.
We wish everyone peace, health, and safety in the pandemic.
Fenggang Yang, President
Francis Jae-ryong Song, Vice President
Yoshihide Sakurai, Vice President Elect
